HSS Hero: Simon Beale

Why they won: On receiving a call from one of our drivers who was feeling unwell, Simon cycled out to the driver and drove him to the nearest hospital where they discovered he was suffering from a heart attack. The medical staff said that Simon’s prompt actions had saved the drivers life.

HSS Hero: Jamie Mackenzie
Job title: Mobile Fitter

Why they won: Whilst driving to a job, Jamie witnessed a road traffic accident involving a people carrier and a VW Polo. Jamie jumped out of his van and climbed over the carnage, opening doors and helping the passengers out of the damaged vehicles and to safety.

HSS Hero: Adam Lythgoe
Job title: Driver

Why they won: We received an urgent call from a customer on a Saturday morning who needed some equipment on site that evening. I called Chris who had a great ‘can-do’ attitude and did everything he could to make it happen. Adam was called in on his day off to make the delivery to a site hundreds of mile away in the North East. All equipment was on site in good time for the customer to start his job.

Job title: Assistant Branch Manager

Why they won: Jason was nominated for saving the life of a man whose canal boat was on fire. Jason pulled the man, who had suffered 50 degree burns, from the water and got him a safe distance away from the burning boat which contained gas canisters. His efforts were recognised by the local paper.
